As CEO of the OMSG-Officine Meccaniche San Giorgio Spa, it’s my pleasure and privilege to inform you that this year we will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of the company, founded and grown in the Milan area.

The first building was located in San Giorgio su Legnano (from which the company takes its name), a small town not far from Milan. The company was involved in the foundry sector, flourishing in this area at the time. Shortly, my father, Vincenzo Dell’Orto, realised the potential of shot blasting machines.

 

 

We first started with small hook shot blast and rotary table machines, then in 1962 the first Tappeto Rampante®Rubber Belt Tumblast machine. From then on, the business volume, the factory and the number of employees has grown.
Sadly, in 2002 my father passed away and I then followed his path. Today, I can proudly state that we are the first Italian company and among the first in the world in our field. In 2017 we acquired one of our biggest competitors, CARLO BANFI and the company’s aim is to grow further in the coming years.
As Managing Director, I would like to express my warm thanks to the employees, the Service, the Sales network both in Italy and abroad and above all to those that allowed this to happen: our customers.

 

Through and thanks to them, we have been able to grow over the years and realise what was my father’s distant dream.
Quality, technology, reliability: this is what our customers are looking for in OMSG shot blasting machines and we will do our utmost to guarantee these basic characteristics of our systems for many years to come.

In 55 years of activity, OMSG has installed more than 5,500 machines worldwide.

There is no continent where there is not an Officine Meccaniche San Giorgio SpA in operation.

We have specific references amongst the leading companies; castings for the automotive sector to forgings for the agricultural and earth moving equipment. Valves for the Oil and Gas industries as well as machines for the treatment of steel sections and profiles for the construction and bridge manufacturers.

Currently there are 86 Countries in which we have installed at least one automatic power shot blasting machine.

It is well known that shot blasting machines user require an effective After-Sales service and spare parts back up, and OMSG pride themselves on the service available .

OMSG devote a great deal of energy ensuring that high quality Spare Parts are available, as well as an adequate quantity of stock.
A wide stock of spare parts allows us to deliver any type of shot blast spare parts , all over the world in very quick time, the advantage for our customers is really great, as they can count on the wide components availability at OMSG, reducing at minimum the maintenance time.

Technicians and Service Engineers are available both in Italy and Overseas to offer assistance and back up.
Local OMSG agents and distributors stock spare parts and offer after-sales services in the shortest time .

THE COMMERCIAL NETWORK OF OMSG

The commercial network of OMSG abroad is supported by highly qualified agents working all over the world.
Thanks to its commercial network, composed of more than 50 between agents and distributors, and the After-sales service centres and spare parts warehouses, OMSG guarantees a quick and timely service worldwide.
Our sales network is able to advise customers the best solution for blasting and shot peening, offering both standard and ad hoc systems on request.

In this way OMSG has managed to install more than 5,000 blasting machines in 86 Countries worldwide.

The two branches OMSG Deutschland Gmbh, near to Stuttgart (Germany) and OMSG France, near to Lyon (France), ensure to OMSG the leadership on the two major European markets, with hundreds of machines installed.

 

From June 2017 historical company Carlo Banfi joined OMSG group.

Carlo Banfi operates in shot blasting and shot peening field from 1938 and through many years of operation has earned a solid reputation producing and manufacturing shot blast and shot peening machines, and machine system which distributes in Italy and in the world, boasting more than 4000 installations.

The main sectors covered by the application and production of Carlo Banfi that now are included in the offer of OMSG Group:

• plants for foundries of cast-iron, steel, aluminum
• shot blast machines for the processing of wire and metal bars
• plants for the shot blasting of wire coils
• plants for shot blasting of railways coaches and car,
• automatic air-blasting machines for inside of boiler,
• automatic shot blasting and handling of liquid and compressed gas cylinders, etc.

OMSG was established in 1961 and since that time has proved itself to be a world leader in the design and manufacture of shot blast, shot-peening and machine systems.
The group consists of four companies and four plants. In addition to the two offices of Italian Villa Cortese (headquarters of over 20,000 m2) and Dairago, both in the province of Milan, there are seats in Oullins Cedex France OMSG French and German OMSG Deutschland GmbH in Metzingen, near Stuttgart.

Starting from June 2017, OMSG group acquired the historical company CARLO BANFI that, starting from 1938, have installed more than 4,000 shot blasting machines worldwide. With such acquisition, OMSG group consolidates its position at international level, at same level with leading multinationals Companies and increase their presence in markets where CARLO BANFI was very active and popular.

OMSG group is present worldwide with more than 5,500 shot blast machines installed in 86 Countries. Thanks to its Commercial network, consisting of more than 50 agents and distributors, and the after sales service and spare parts warehouses, we can ensure a quick and timely service worldwide.
The range of our products is very large and serves several fields of industries including: foundries of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, steel structural works, aluminum die- castings, forge, draw-plates, galvanizing treatment, hot forming and cold, particular in the oil & gas, liquid and compressed gas cylinders, etc.

OMSG group manufactures about 100-110 blast machines per year, of which 75% is bound for the export market, mainly Europe, North and South Africa, North and South America and the Middle East.

OMSG group offers a wide range of standard shot blasting machines, more than 120 types on the price list including Tumblast blast machine Tappeto Rampante® either with rubber or steel conveyors, shot blasting machine with roller conveyors, Spinner hanger machines with hooks or hoists, tunnelblast machines, continuous belts and machines with Diabolo rollers, rotary tables, wire or bars. More than half of the production, however, is made up of special blast machines tailor-made to customer’s requirements.

All our shot blast machines are CE marked.

All our machines and systems are certified according to ISO 9001 Quality.
OMSG group cares particularly to the safety of its systems, users and their employees and workers. For this reason, since December 2015, we are certified in accordance to the Health and Safety of workers BS OHSAS 18001.

OMSG has always worked beyond its national market with the aim of proving its dominance and capability. So in 1990 OMSG DEUTSCHLAND was established and has resulted in OMSG being a focal point in that market.
Services offered by our company are competence and ability to provide precise technical offers for shot blasting problems.
The Metzingen factory is capable of demonstration tests for most problems or for arranging visits to primary customers.
After-sales service is second to none providing spare parts from its own stock.
This winning policy gave us the possibility to install almost 500 installations on the territory, acknowledging a primary role to OMSG DEUTSCHLAND as supplier of shot blast machines and shot-peening.
